As Shasta Orthopaedics has grown in size and prestige, more people from outside the Redding area have started asking whether I accept out-of-town patients. Although it does take some extra planning beforehand, I can absolutely accomodate patients arriving from out-of-town or out-of-state.
I have seen patients from around the country, and the staff at Shasta Orthopaedics is capable of facilitating all the details that come with traveling for medical care. In most cases, I am able to coordinate with patients' primary care physicians so the hand-off of care is seamless. Being able to review x-rays digitally provides me with the ability to generate a treatment plan and order the necessary pre-operative tests before patients have even left home.
Most patients who travel to Redding for hip replacement or knee replacement surgery will meet with me at the office one day before surgery and then relax at a nearby hotel for the night. Once surgery is complete, patients typically remain in the Redding area until their two-week follow up appointments. At that point, patients are typically off their pain medications and mobilizing well enough to head back home.
If you're interested in traveling to Redding for your hip replacement or knee replacement surgery, I encourage you to contact my office to learn more. Shasta Orthopaedics is located at 1255 Liberty Street, just a short drive from the Redding Municipal Airport.
